Residents of MUSTANG CROSSING will find a large array of fun and exciting activities in the Alvin area:

• Bayou Wildlife Park: Here you will find the beautiful, natural wildlife of Africa, Asia, Australia, etc.
• Shimek's Gardens: The hundreds of flowers that grow in this garden each year produce an amazing aroma you will not want to miss.
• Froberg Farms: For over 60 years Froberg's Farm has been providing Alvin and the surrounding communities with a large variety of fresh fruits, vegetables, nuts and a variety of Froberg's own homemade pies, preserves, salsa and meats! With breezy, open air market shopping, Frobergs claims to be the 'largest open air farmers market' in the area, and offers not only fruit and vegetables, but has branched out to include flowers, freshly smoked meats and sausage, an outdoor living area with bar-b-que pits, custom made picnic tables and swings, a garden center and seasonal items for shoppers. Located off CR 190, you have to cross the tracks to enter the driveway; and you really have the whole country farm experience. They have really good specials on different items. You will definitely find something here. They have fresh pinto beans, which are delicious!! It is a fun way to buy fresh food and is even just a good weekend outing trip.  The specialty in the produce market is homegrown watermelons, sweet corn and tomatoes and strawberries. You can even pick your own. If it isn't grown on the Froberg Farms, it is purchased from area farmers, and the market is open 12 months out of the year.  

• Stanton's Shopping Center: Opened June 3,1922, family owned and operated Stanton's has served customers in Alvin. It was Alvin First shopping center filled with Texas memorabilia, collectibles and items you probably long forgot existed. When visiting Alvin, you won't want to miss browsing around the unique and unforgettable gifts. 

• Alvin Historical Museum was once the former post office but has now been renovated by the City of Alvin to house this notable museum.. Located at 300 W. Sealy, Alvin, Texas, the museum is a major on-going project of the Alvin Museum Society. Exhibits have been designed and fabricated, first-class movable shelving has been installed, offices have been outfitted with furnishings and basic computer equipment, and a break room for volunteers has been completed. Other exhibits are being designed and constructed. Except for the basic renovation costs, the Alvin Museum Society has paid for all other improvements through fundraising and generous in-kind gifts from individuals, local businesses and organizations.

• Nolan Ryan Exhibit Center: This center walks you through the legendary baseball career of Nolan Ryan!  The Nolan Ryan Foundation, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, was formed in Alvin, Texas in 1990. Nolan and Ruth generously give their time for signing and other fund-raising efforts that enable the Foundation to provide resources for youth, education, and community development. The construction of the $1.2 million Nolan Ryan Center was the first project the Foundation completed and was donated to Alvin Community College in the fall of 1996. Since that time, funds have been disbursed for projects such as fulfilling a pledge to the Greater Houston YMCA as they bring a new facility to Alvin, Texas, sponsoring teacher conferences, and supporting other local community projects.  

• Alvin Golf & Country Club is a popular club house to host a variety of events. Rent the banquet hall for a wedding, reception, bridal or baby shower, conference or meeting, or party of any kind. Rent the swimming pool for pool parties; add the moonwalk for fun; or include a golf package with your meeting or party to make your event a unique success. They specialize in wedding reception events! They cater, or you can bring your own. Room capacity varies: if all of your guests are seated, the room comfortably holds 75 with room for a DJ or band.  The room connects to the covered patio, with additional seating for your guests.
